Kite Picture (not assembled into kite) - made in Japan c. 1980's - woodblock printed drawing colored by hand - Japanese washi paper made from mulberry - 17" x 17" - kite picture #1. Traditional kite picture was to be assembled with bamboo into a flying kite. Woodblock printing was used to outline the design in black and then the colors were handpainted. Strong & bold colors, we have stored this kite picture flat in our Gallery's dark storage for 30+ years. This is an authentic woodblock-printed vintage kite picture, made in Japan.
