1840s Daguerreotype Pretty Woman Holding Book, Painted Boats in Backdrop, Sealed
Sixth-plate daguerreotype of a woman with gold jewelry holding a book with painted gold highlights. She's seated in front of a painted lake or harbor backdrop with visible ships. The daguerreotype look to have its original seals still intact (see pic 3), but I have never taken it apart to verify 100%. Light scratch on the outside of the glass, the image itself seems completely undamaged.
